The Basilique located on top of the mountain over Lyon is beautiful. The cripte is really huge and very well kept and is big as much basilique. From outside a stunning panorama over the town. Both for the basilique than for the view a place to go. To get on top of the mountain there is a convenient Cable Car... More

Went to the Basilique with a tour guide, the history of this church is fascinating. Easy enough to go on your own but having the history explained makes t he visit just that much more special.

Not as old as one would imagine, but well worth a visit is you are able to get up the very high hill to get to it. The stained glass and mosaic ceiling are lovely.

I have been to and in a large number of fairly well known cathedrals and I am happy to count this one as one I visited, sat in and prayed in. I recommend walking up, in sensible shoes, as the paths in the garden and stations of the cross are somewhat. meditative and pilgrimage-like despite not being in the best... More

First you have the beauty of the inside of the cathedral, baroque style, with magnificent colours and beautiful paintings. Then you have a stunning view outside on all the city of Lyon, with the possibility of walking from up to down and reach the Old Lyon district, which is also outstanding (XIIth century)

Easily seen from miles around, the visit Inside does not disappoint, although only build 150 years ago this is an impressive building. A two storey cathedral with plenty of space for a quiet prayer or moment of thought. Visits to the roof also possible giving stunning views of Lyon and the surrounding Alpes in the distance.

One of the most beautiful churches I have ever been. Take the funicular up the hill to avoid a long walk.

This place offers an excellent view of Rhone and Saone rivers which confluence near the city. The basilica is very beautiful and intricately designed with paintings and wooden carvings. The train journey to the hillock is also very nice.!

This church is even better than Notre Dame Church in Paris. One can just simply enjoy and stare at the beauty of the mosaics and the ceiling. I can spend whole day in this beautiful church admiring its beauty!
