This is a superb hotel. Not cheap but the best place to stay in Lyon. A palatial courtyard built by Italian merchants. Amazing character and in a brilliant area. Highlights are the spa and the michelin star restaurant with Renaissance degustation menu. The concierge is also legendary.

We went by ourselves; I am not sure that I know what a guide would have added in commentaries. It is interesting to see that people still live there. We were not able to see the apartments for obviuos reasons but the all ways appeared very basic.

Our family of five stayed in an apartment with an adjoining "piazza" room. We had tons of space and the apartment bathroom was the largest we have ever seen in a hotel. Please remember that this hotel was carved out of three sixteenth century homes, so it is a bit quirky. We, however, enjoyed every "quirk" and with a staff... More

Very accommodating and helpful staff. The hotel is beautiful and immaculately kept. The double rooms ( 33 & 32 ) were split levels with the bath/shower in the middle. A bit awkward if you are the shy bashful type. The toilet had a separate room. Personally I found the room a little small for 2 people. My daughter however loved... More

We enjoyed three wonderful nights here, in a very romantic and beautifully decorated luxury hotel. The staff took excellent care of us and made us feel welcome and at home. Our room was spotless (obrigada, Maria!) and very comfortable, overlooking beautiful hanging gardens. We would gladly return here if we are ever in Lyon again!

Guide books cite quite a number of Tarboules (internal passageways connecting buildings and often reaching another street) in Lyon. I found some to be inaccessible (ie., locked) but I can recommend two in Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon): 54 Rue St-Jean (the longest Traboule in Lyon - you will see a plaque on the wall), and 8 Rue Juiverie (the Philibert... We were in four different hotels during our trip, three were "5 star". The Cour des Loges was heads and tails above the others, the others were nice. The concierge at the Cour des Loges was beyond excellent!!! The best concierge ever, anywhere! I can understand why Gerard won "Concierge of the Year." Congratulations to him, but you were all... The hotel Cour des Loges is perfectly situated in the old part of Lyon. Our room was beautifully decorated and definitely not your average hotel room, With red drapes and a very old feel but with ultra modern facilities it was lovely. The breakfast was fantastic and in fact kept us going through the day without needing lunch. Gerard the... More

I stayed 2 nights with my partner in Lyon. The hotel is very nice and cosy. I loved the old style and the court yard which they turned into a reception. Rooms are quite small but nice and clean. Bar has great selection of drinks and cocktails. Breakfast is continental. The staff is friendly.
