Being for work some time on Grenoble, I came to the halls because I was looking for a place where I could have good products to change from the daily groceries I do out of necessity.
Many choices of fruits and vegetables, meats, fish, cheeses etc. The prices are certainly a little high, but everything is of quality. And above all, in the halls, we feel safe to shop quietly.
I've been there once and I'll come back regularly, the whole time of my stay here.
Thanks also to the welcome of the merchants who serve you with a smile and kindness.

Went here on a Sunday – and the surrounding area is packed with fruits, cheese, meats and vegetable vendors immediately outside of this huge enclosed market. Going inside, you have several rows of “cubes” of vendors selling everything from fish, pastries, prepared meals, cheese, meats, etc., etc. – interesting and varied – huge stimulus for the senses! Lots to check out, taste and even buy for a snack, meal or to eat later in the day. Would recommend as a must-see in Grenoble, but if you can go on a Sunday, all the better.

Nice building looking from outside. Inside is clean with wide range of products. Nothing special or any attraction that must visit this market.

You would think that because it is a market you will find cheap things. Wrong. Fruits and veggies are not cheap here. Nevertheless, you can find fresh and bio ingredients, plus, you support local farmers.

This is building which hosts some fresh food shops inside. The architecture of the building is very nice but nothing else to say. Not much to do inside.

I always like to visit a local market when I travel. This one in Grenoble was wonderful. I was offered and accepted a taste of a pear which was delicious. I ended up buying a few pears and after making my purchase the vendor insisted on giving me 3 bananas and an apple as well. My experience has been that people selling at markets are so friendly and down-to-earth. A smile goes a long way if you don't speak the language!

Small indoor Point of Sale, which turns very quickly. Very cute with typical products well ordered and clean. Closes at 1pm

Delightful city the historical part you visit in one day the museums are all free to free offer.
Truly spectacular the ascent to the Bastille where you can enjoy the whole valley.
Good food not to miss their walnut beer... the countryside around Grenoble is dense with walnut plantations.
All visitable with the cheap and easy to use tram.
