We didn't have a lot of time on the day we visited and so took the ride up in the cable car, had a look around the bastille and took in the spectacular views from on high. The bastille itself does not have a lot to see but for the views alone it is worth the trip. There are apparently... More

The Bastille is a nice place for a good hike that takes you to nice views. We hiked up the hillside above and behind it and had even better views plus some cool memorials to the mountain soldiers on WWII. Bring water. We did not explore the museums there--next time! Sent our kids down on the telepherique and they enjoyed... More

If you're looking to glance over the alps and the valley of Grenoble standing on top of a hill then Bastille is the place to be for you. Easily accessible by foot and car.

The first thing that caught my eye after reaching Grenoble was the cable car with spherical capsules. After reaching my hotel room, I was so determined to go visit the place that was connected by this cable car that I shook off the tiredness from the journey and immediately started walking towards it. It was a 4 minute journey from... More

Beautiful views from the Bastille! The "bubble" ride up was fun! Interesting history of the formation of the mountains in English also.

Located at the top of a hill, Fort Bastille is highly accessible by a 4min cable car from the foot. Once on top, you will have a bird's eye view of the city of Grenoble. Definitely worth a visit.

It's more fun to see the gondola from the hike up than be in it. :) We didn't pay for any of the attractions (Museums, Adventure Park), but there was a free bathroom with good water.

The views are definitely the ride up. The teleferic is fun way to get there. They have a ropes course and adventure area right in the fortress on top at pretty reasonable prices. My kids LOVED that and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

The views are worth the ride. They have solved the issue of the temperature in the summer, so it is not a ride in a steam room. Also, if you are in shape and are playful give it a try at the Acrobastille!!. Particularly, if you are travelling with children, you will have a lot of fun.

Fantastic views, both day and night. Well worth the journey. Went up in the bubble which was good fun, next time I intend to walk up.
