Arguably one of the more iconic visits you can make in the city of Grenoble. Taking the 'bulles' is in and of itself worth the trip, granting you a splendid view of the city and the roaring Isère river below. The Bastille is a great...More

This really should not be missed ! The trip up and down in the small capsule isn't for everyone I know but it takes about 4/5 minutes and only cost €5.90 return with a local hotel discount ticket. Once up there are restaurants, which do...More

Great view on a clear day! Placards at top point out landmarks. Historical placards present the importance of the structure. Other than the placards and the view, there is not much to do at the top if one is not going for a hike, going...More

There are two ways to get up to the Bastille. One - hike up. Two - take the cable car/bubble. I chose the latter since it was a hot day. The ride takes less than 5 minutes once you get into one of those bubbles....More

La Bastille is a former military fort. It is now used for nature activities such as hiking and enjoying a picnic at it´s summit. You can get there walking or taking the cableway. A great sunset view is guaranteed.

Nice relaxing stroll up the hill. Excellent views of the township and rivers from the top as well as along the way. There are a couple of interesting graffiti art too. Cable car if you are short of time or breath.

It's a great place for a run. It's tough but satisfactory and with a great view of the city and of the Mont blanc in clear days. You can take the bulles to go down. There are 2 restaurants up the Bastille and a museum.
