We arrived Chamonix the night before very late due to TGV delay. So on the 2nd day, we started late morning. We walked from Chamonix to the lake for 30min. The lake is more like a pond, but peaceful and pretty with ducks swimming around....More
Well, this was a fantastic little place to visit while on holiday in Chamonix, France with the family, utterly amazing!
Very peaceful. Highly recommend.
Will try and come back here again.
Got some good holiday photos.
Really nice place.
I was there for rock climbing and I found the wall very good. There is variety of grades so everyone will find something suitable (buy the guidebook though :))
There is a parking, small cafe with snacks/ good coffee, and few hotels...More
We visited Montenvers Train - La Mer de Glace and Aiguille du Midi on a single day, and we end up having another day to spare.
We decided on Lake Gaillands, and I truly felt this is one of the beautiful places in Chamonix.
It is a small beautiful lake on foot of Mond Blanc. Behind was the forest and the color of the lake was green. Sometimes red trains passed through and it made a beautiful scene. There was a parking space and toilet accross the street.
