By accident me and my friend visited outside of the operating dates for the chairlifts. This ended up being a spectacular thing however as we got to hike all the way from the bottom to the top with some amazing views. The lake is not much by itself, but its about the journey more than it is the destination.

This is a great 4-hour or less hike if you find the trail. At the beginning for some reason there is a dearth of signage signalling how to get on the trail. Once you're on it, it's quite clear which way to go, but the initial part of the hike can be confusing because there are so many other walking... More

I walked the path the person at Chamonix tourist office wrote in my map after I got off the bus in Argentiere (walked on the trail parallelling the road, passed farm land, 40min). At the starting point, the innocent sign read "2:50". The trail started out straight forward till I got to the rock climbing spot. I got side-wayed till... More

Really cool. Make sure to take the right maps (the cable car office will not give you a detailed map). There are no signs of the trail anywhere.

I have climbed the path to this lake many times from both the Flegere (from Pras-de-Chamonix) and from the lovely Trelechamps. Any way you go is spectacular, because along the path you have non-stop views across the valley toward Col des Montets and the Aiguilles above Chamonoix. Then, the treat of the Cheseys, small lakes which mirror the massif across... More

This is nature at her very best. I have visited many beautiful places but this one will take some beating. The weather was perfect and the hike up from the Flegere lift station was easy but interesting and not too busy. When you reach the lakes, it takes your breath away. The people that have seen our photos ask if... More

Easily accessible after a 60 walk from the La Flegere cable, this turquoise lake view was astonishing! We stopped by foran our before going on with our 9-day Tour du Mont Blanc hike!

Needs good footwear and a reasonable fitness level.Avoid on a wet day. At the top there is a cafe providing basic food and drink with great views of the Alps. Be prepared for lots of people.

We have been to Lac Blanc many times, usually from the Index as height is gained on the chair lift rather than walking. This year it was fab weather so extremely busy, people like ants. The paths back towards the cable car give amazing view fo Mont Blanc--a memory to sooth the heart on grotty winter days.

This place is a detour of our TMB hike. It was a bid challenging to get here starting from Trient, but the view is really worth all the efforts we put in. This is probably the best place to see Mont Blanc with the mountains clearly reflected in the lake water when it is calm. It is worth to spend... More
