Weather plays a factor when viewing the Alps. Clouds can close in quickly and shut down your views. Take a cable car ride to enjoy the full benefits.

This is one of the bucket list 'must do's '. It is expensive but enthralling. The scary chair lift up the Aiguille du Midi was nail-bitingly exciting, and once on top the views are stunning.

Yes it is expensive and yes you can wait a while to get to the top but then -WOW! Mountainous countryside is beautiful but the cable car ride to Aiguille du Midi (over 3800 metres up in the Mont Blanc range) gives you one of the most stunning views possible. Visit the glass box on the side of the mountain... More

TMB trek with Ryder-Walker guides was eight days of fantastic views, summits and challenges. From France to Italy to Switzerland & back was a once-in-a-lifetime experience which made me feel so small amid those massive peaks. Cowbell "choirs" graced the valleys with their music, and hiking down next to a blue, rushing glacier was unparalleled beauty.

Mont Blanc is the perfect snow capped back drop to Chamonix. You can see it from so many angles and you can get pretty close to it by taking the cable car up to the Aiguille du Midi. Plenty of photo opportunities but would recommend going up on a sunny day

I found the hiking worth the effort, but a bit harder than usual because of elevation, intensity of sun and terrain. Every view is incredible. Glaciers and lifts to provide access everywhere.

Took the cable car to the top and the views are amazing! Unfortunately the cable car crews could not have been more rude and condescending. Jammed customers in the cars so that you are hardly able to breathe they are so packed. Ride up and down very unpleasant, especially if you are trapped in the middle of the care and... More
