You get amazing views if you walk up from Chamonix - a great wow moment when you turn around a corner near the top.

When you are in Chamonix, you must do a glacier hike. This one is a easy one, but require knowledge of glacier rescue and a good condition. Starting from the Aguille Du Midi follow the ridge down to the plateau. From there it is easy...More

Wow! We took the walk to the top as a team building exercise and despite a few moments to catch one’s breath the views were well worth the effort. Will be returning with the family

Took the mountain tram to get up to the top. Beautiful area. And if you have some money you can even stay up in the hotel overlooking the glacier. Amazing.

We caught the train from Chamonix to Vallee Blanche to experience the glacier. We got to the glacier via the foot ladders as the gondola was out of action. A truly amazing experience. Beautiful, breathtaking views. We did a little rope training on the glacier...More

Amazing visit. I went up on the train, and then down onto the glacier. There are signs showing where the ice has retreated from with the dates and heights.

Overlooked from the Montenvers - Mer de Glace train - which is included in the unlimited pass, if you are planning on going to go up Aiguille du Midi and Brevent. Great views from the station alone, but to descend into the valley was well...More

First time skiing the Vallee Blanche was incredible! The skiing is mellow but the views and the lunch were unreal.

Definitely one of those "extreme" things, even tourists without so good skiing skills can do, but of course only with a proper mountain guide and equipments. Views and glacier are amazing and worth of little sweating. Without fresh pow this might be a bit boring...More

The Vallée Blanche exceeded my expectations and was a highlight of our 10 days in the Alps. We were treated with a bluebird day and about 8 inches of fresh powder. Our group of five were fairly good skiers so we took one of the...More

End of Jan - it’s all down to the weather - skied back into the village where as last year was out the same time and could not get onto the ridge due to wind. And not enough snow to ski back to Chamonix.

Les Houches is not in the central Chamonix area - the free bus service will get you to the central town of Chamonix itself and to the other ski areas - but if I had the choice I'd stay in Chamonix itself. Yes it will be more... More
