We did the Balcon Sud - about a three hour hike Walk from Chamonix to Les Praz de Chamonix. You can take the bus or you can walk it - about 20 minutes. Don't take the road - take the trail and keep the river on your left - pretty walk. When you get to Les Praz, the Cable Car... More

We took the Flegere cable car and walked back down to Chamonix via the Floria which was really lovely and a very accessible path all the way. Took 2 hours.

Flegere has good views over to Mont Blanc and is the starting place for some great walks. Look out for Ibex too. They are quite tame and it is possible to get close to them.

Over an hour to get up the mountain, and similar coming back down again. When up there, the slopes are good, but it's just too long to wait. Desperately need to build another one right next to this one - or something else!

This cable car has been my access to the Aguile rough mountains. These top up to almost 3000meters. And have a nice degrees in difficulty. So a perfect place to go walking and climbing!

No idea what the slopes were like. Queue was easily an hour long for the slowest cable car in the universe so left and got the bus to Brevent and was on the slopes in 5 mins,

As many other reviewers have commented, you can get stuck at La Flegere in a long queue. The cable car is too small and in need of replacement. After a long wait, nearly an hour, you are packed in and the experience s quite unpleasant. For reasons unknown, our ascent was delayed and as we came into the top station,... More

Chamonix's infrastructure is prehistoric in many cases and flegere sums it up. We waited 85 minutes in a queue just to get on the cable car to get up the mountain. That's after waiting for a bus to take us to flegere from Argentiere. Bus services in this valley are way to infrequent. At the end of the days skiing... More
