Affordable alternative to Aiguille du Midi which enables you to see cross-valley views of Mount Blanc on a clear day. It's approximately 16 euro (as compared to 60 euro) and there are some nice hikes at it end point that can last about a half day, such as the hike to lac blanc.

We had amazing views of Mont Blanc panorama on the way up/down and during our walk. It is only 4 stars because there were no signpost available for the trail to Lac Blanc. The map they offered at the ticket box was confusing.

If you like hiking, the top station is excellent starting point for many alpine hikes, the most famous is le lac blanc. You need to be in good physical shape to do it and be well equipped. Please bring with you water and some food. Also some hat and sunglasses are needed.

We have been in Aiguille du Midi and in this one (Flegere). The first is busy, very expensive (200+ euro for a family with 3 children), and the trails options there are limited. The Flegere cable car is cool, it doesn't take you to 3,000m+, but the place it will get you to is ideal for tracks. The price is... More

The Flegere cable car was the starting point for a lot of our hikes. It got very busy and it was too crowded. We did like how close it was to Chamonix.

The cablecars in the Chamonix area are very nice and works very good, the only problem is that it´s to expensive. I think it´s much more expensive here than in the rest of the alps.

This is a busy cable car, popular for going to Lac Blanc. It is a lovely setting. There is a cafe and seating area at the top with amazing views.

The cable car itself is maybe not all that exciting but I give it 5 stars because you can do the Grand Balcon Sud hike starting from here to Planpraz. If you have a multipass, the lift up to L'Index is a nice little sidetrip too. We went in August and there were tons of wild blueberry bushes along the... More

A totally different view from that of the "du Midi" but in someways equally as beautiful. Buy a multiple day pass and be sure to take this car to the top. We watched paragliders prepare and take off. We watched climbers practicing self arrest with ice axes, and we saw the incredible beauty of the mountain.

Excellent views on the Mont Blanc and the Mer de Glace from La Flégère. Fast, easy, and you are far above the crowd of Chamonix.
