A gorgeous scenery!

I didn't climb all the way but I really enjoyed hiking around the area. I would recommend you take at least half a day to enjoy it best.

Climbed this peak in hot sunshine last August--not particularly strenuous--if you are fit--snow still lying there--good fun on a very hot day! Great view from the top--think it was about 2500m

Aiguilles Rouges pass all the way from Passy to the swiss border. It is a very good spot to hike with all the paths marked very well. The higher you go the better the views are obviously. I managed to camp on the summit of Le Buet one night and i would definitely recommend it. There is no need to... More

No! Because the view of the valley as you disappear into the clouds on the cable car is still amazing. Then you're just travelling in whiteness and have no idea what's going on... so that's it's own experience - especially when a rock suddenly emerges out of nowhere 2 feet from the window.... Even in thick mist Aiguilles Rouges was... More

Cant recommend this walk highly enough. From the Index chair lift (above Flegere from Les Praz) short descent on ski-run, before climbing up valley to Cwm at Lac Cornu/Lac Noirs). Via Ferrata-style cables/rungs to help with slightly tricky sections (not too scary - fine for family used to Snowdonia/Lakes walks). Views, atmosphere outstanding. Allow 2-3 hours including detour to lakes... More

The Aiguilles Rouges natural reserve is great for hikes and also for rock climbing. There are several lakes that one can hike up to. Lac Blanc is the best known because there is a nice restaurant up there. The other lakes are more "wild nature". The view is great, with the Mont Blanc Massif right in front of you.

Stunning rock climbs with access to the starting points made easier by the cable car and chair lift up to the Index! Views across the valley to the Mere de Glace and the Mont Blanc massif are fantastic. Did the Voie Gaspard route - E1, brilliant. Great walks for those not equipped for the crags.

Beautiful, wilderness of mountains. You can choose a hiking route from "medium" difficulty to "difficult with climbing elements" or just walk any route so far you feel you good and safe. There are wild marmottes, chamois, and even royal eagle can be seen above your head. Lots of wild flowering rhododendrons... Very beautiful views on Mount Blanc massif.
