We rented our bike from Annecy then we went direct South-West you can check the pic that is attached to the review. We thought we'd do an hour and then the ride was so beautiful that we decided to continue all the way. We stopped just before Talloires town and had lunch there on a beautiful place by the lake called "Bistrot du Ponton". The ride is 42km in total from and to Annecy. It took us around 6 hours to do it in total (taking pics + lunch + enjoying). There is a part just after Talloires town that is very difficult and we had to walk with our bikes (we were not able to bike it). I have highlighted this place in black. Long story short, the ride is most beautiful on the west side of the lake - not extremely pretty from the east side (so if you're short on time and not willing to get tired, stick to the west side of the lake), andif you'd like a little adventure and have some time to spare go ahead and do the full tour but expect to be tired if you're an intermediate biker!…

The bike route has a range of options from basic cycle path for the family to a lake tour of 40km to tough mountains like Semnoz. They are working on completing the tour du lac so you wont have to go on the road @ all but in the summer its a little dangerous for a few sections on the Veyrier / Talloires side. 2020 I guess before its finished. the Annecy / Sevrier side is all a converted rail line and very safe and very flat unless you want to run off into the mountains there are a range of "hills" from basic 4/5% options to more challenging 10% options like Semnoz As always in Annecy July / August is very busy and a little dangerous because of the mix of users in terms of ability and equipment..…

It's an old rail line converted for walkers, bike riding etc. We stayed at Albertville and cycled to Annecy and back. A very pleasant experience with many stop off points and I recommend the snack shack by the old railway engine. Great coffee and super ice creams. The track goes much further than we experienced.…
