«Pont des amours» (loves bridge)
From this bridge you can make amazing picture of
«lac d’Annecy».
Not only this bridge but the lake of Annecy is a romantic place in every season! You can have a picnic in the park. Rent a boat. Swim in the crystal clear lake. A nice walk around the water.. a hot wine (vin chaud) on this romantic bridge, while watching the view...
I come often because I don’t live that far away.

Above the Vassé Canal, linking the Pâquier and the Jardins de l'Europe, the Pont pedestrian des Amours is an iron footbridge dating from the very beginning of the twentieth century, replacing those in wood and cast iron from the 19th century.
There are many legitimate and illegitimate lovers lol photographing themselves, placing a padlock on the railings to seal their love.
As for urban legend, it is said that two lovers giving each other a kiss in the middle will be united for life through third experience, this is not often true lol Another mentions that in the past it was frequented by women giving paid pleasure.
This bridge remains today a busy crossing in an absolutely romantic setting with magnificent views of the city, the canals and the lake.

Pont des Amours is a small footbridge over Le Thiou where it flows gently into the harbour and lake. I’ve no idea if there is any history to the bridge or its name but it is a pleasant enough little bridge that has, unsurprisingly, become a magnet to idiots with unsightly padlocks.
Of course, like most other bridges in Annecy, it’s a good photo stop.

This is a small ordinary bridge that crosses a canal on the edge of the Jardin de Europe overlooking the lake. There is nothing special surrounding the bridge either. The bridge was crowded with mostly young people nonetheless. Some were putting locks on it. I didn’t see many locks which means the city cuts them off since they do cause harm from all the weight when there are too many locks. To me this is a pointless and even harmful exercise. It approaches the definition of a tourist trap since there is really nothing special here other than to place another lock on the bridge which the city will soon remove. Marking your territory this way is not eco-friendly. Apparently a lot of young people don’t seem to care. Why everyone comes here I don't know.

We also visited this cute city on December 16th. This bridge is a beautiful bridge, as it is known, where Lake Annecy turns into a river. It is open to both pedestrians and traffic. The lake quickly forms a river here and continues, especially you can take a photo of the beautiful structure on the island from here.

The highest point in our visit to Annecy, facing the lake and behind us is the canal accompanied by tall trees that give shade and a very welcoming climate. It is a simple iron walkway style bridge where all the photos look good. It is a place to stop and kiss without hesitation living up to its name. At their feet, on the coast of the canal towards the lake, the ducks and geese approach to ask for what is left of the picnic. Annecy's best place.

This is the photo spot of Annecy, it is world famous!
Do not miss. In addition, the 2 sides of the bridge offer completely different photos, but each is equally photogenic.
The only difficulty is being able to take a photo without a whole bunch of people in it. So you have to favor an "off-peak hour"...

What more could one ask for. On a glorious sun-filled late Saturday afternoon it was delightful crossing the famous bridge. Albeit in the company of many many others.
On either side were fabulous scenes. Canal du Vassé on one was beautiful, lined with trees and many little craft moored.
Expansive and fabulous the Lake vistas were breathtaking. Framed by mountains with lush greenery and trees all around. Multitudes of boats were out enjoying the water. Many others were anchored.

If there wasn't the beautiful Annecy lake close by, I'd rather advise not bothering to come here for the bridge.
It's a very ordinary bridge with nice views of the lake.
I saw very few love locks, it seems they're removed just like in Paris' Pont des Arts.

Not sure how to rate a small bridge crossing some water. Located in a lovely park featuring massive trees, interesting sculptures and stunning views. On the inland side there is a short canal lined by privately owned small boats. Some look as if they have been unused for months as a nesting water bird illustrates.
