Stunning scenery and good take off site for paragliding.

Great for cycling, paragliding and hill walking with amazing views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Good launch site.

Unfortunately when we got to the top of the mountain the view was obscured by low clouds. the drive up from Annecy was great and the sports items at the top look good fun. we did enjoy the coffee in the bar restaurant at the top

We took the "navette" (shuttle bus) from the station in Annecy to the summit. 6euro each, return trip (or take a mountain bike and ride down). It's a windy road so not for those who get motion sick, but views and serenity at the top are priceless, and include Mont Blanc. We walked down part of the way and took... More

We drove the 26 kms from Talloires to thus summit. There is a hike you can do there but it wasn't what we expected. There is a gorgeous view where on a clear day you can see Mont Blanc. Tons of people bike up this long uphill road. Crazy if you ask me. Narrow roads and traffic not to mention... More

It is a "must do trip" if staying in Annecy and probably would be worth doing in any weather except rain, though we have only been there in the Spring when the grass is green and the lovely little alpine flowers are starting to bloom, and the weather is reasonably sunny. That said, the Mont Blanc was visible but sadly... More

Can be quite cold so rug up. Rode up on a bike and then froze at top and on way down. Can see Mont Blanc easily on a clear day.

The drive up from Annecy some 40 min on a beautiful mountain road; take your time. In winter need chains but in the summer easy drive; don't stop at the first parking area; keep on going to the top. Here a little restaurant with a magnificent view...including Mont Bloc. Forget taking pictures! Just look, enjoy, and keep in your hart!!

No ... The Semnoz is definitely not an impressive mountains but rather some kind of big hill adjacent to Annecy. Ok, hill is maybe not the word, let's say a low mountain for the occasion. Climb at the top by car or by bus (there are regular lines starting from Annecy). The view point at the top is beautiful and... More

This is an amazing drive. Amazing photo opportunities. There is a great pottery shop on the way by Didier Cossin, in LESCHAUX. You will see signs. Talented sculptor at reasonable prices. for unique souvenirs, instead of the stuff that you find in tourists shops.

There are only three buses per day going up the Semnoz from the central train bus station in Annecy, cost about 5.60 euro return per person. But if there is no snow up there, the bus won't run on the day, check before going.
