There is a FREE Port bus. When you go out from your cruise(we are from MSC) follow the green line(10 to 15 minutes of walk, depends how fast you walk) (you may have to walk a bit, but you can't miss it, there is a big white tent). Many cruisers walked to the same bus! No need to hesitate, just following the green line! And you save 17 Euro if you buy tickets from your msc cruise! But not suggest for those with children and old parents! If you take a taxi to the town,it is only around 20 Euro for a single trip!good deal if you’re with a group of four! We are only two and we decided to try the free shuttle! You will see Free bus and drives you to the old city,on the way back bus drives each half hour and the last one is at 17:00. The bus stop is at Les Terrasses Du Port, 9 Quai du Lazaret. When you go back to cruise pier, just go to the same place. After we got off from the free port shuttle, we bought a 24 hours transportation pass to explore the city!
Before going back to the cruise,we spent some time at this shopping mall and bought some nice souvenirs! There is also a good ice cream shop!

This is a good mall if you feel like shopping. There are many brand name stores and there are some outdoor restaurants looking over the port. Seeing the port is what makes this mall special. Otherwise, it’s a mall like any other.

Clean and well kept. Mostly high end stores, a food court, Printemps, and a lovely terrace. Too cold when we were there to enjoy the terrace and the view. Easy to get to by tram. A bit difficult to locate some of the stores, the dirctory is lacking and no map. I was happy to just wander around, so didn't bother me.

Except the view, get ready to see nothing, too small and not a world class shopping center.
Shops are closing, poor french people, may be their standard after all.
Tax refunds took us 45 min, with yound and inexperienced people. The cafe and the food are industrial, not French touch at all. If you are on a cruise, and stop by .... find another area to have fun. Its really terrible.
Even Spain shops have more characters.
I dont recommend at all !!!

Indeed, the best shopping mall in Marseille located on the waterfront offering fabulous views. Take a break to "Relax and Enjoy" a bottle of wine at one the restaurant's terraces overlooking the sea. We had a few at the "R2"

I don't tend to review shopping centres on the basis that if you've seen one - you've seen them all. I make an exception here because this place, which is near Joliette Metro, is an ultra smart centre with a fantastic range of top class shops. There is also a fine selection of restaurants and snack bars.

The location on the waterside is also rather spectacular and the outside terraces, overlooking the harbour, almost have the feel of terraces on a liner with their wooden floors and outward leaning railings.

This is a beautifully designed shopping centre and certainly worth a visit.

On the place where once was one of the docks of Marseille a fantastic shopping mall has been created. All the quality shops you can imagine and more. The terraces overlooking the harbor are really nice to watch the hustle of ships being prepared for their journeys to Tunis, Algiers and probably other places like Corsica. A real tip especially when the rest of the city is blazing with heat like when we visited.

Why put up with bad traffic and a shockingly high parking charges (thanks Vinci) when you can visit the same stores at any other centre commercial?

To quote Shania Twain's song; that don't impress me much. So a new shopping centre has been opened since the 24th, May,2014. Been there twice already but wouldn't say there's anything attractive or spectacular. The biggest shopping centre it's not, only 160 shops ( had seen bigger one such as the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, UK, with 300 shops, just remember those days we drove through the Dartford Tunnel to get to the centre every weekend, now it's not even the biggest shopping centre in UK), the newest idea, the shape of ship it's not,( Whampoa shopping centre in Hong Kong is exactly like a ship on the ground) The design of the centre is like a long corridor with shops on both sides, a little bit crowded on a busy day, not like the design of another shopping centre Le Grand Littorel where you can walk around without worrying about touching somebody's shoulder from time to time. You find all the familiar shops in every town centre in France here, nothing interesting. Food hall on the ground floor has a poor variety of food choice, mostly selling sweet stuffs like macarons, baklava, French patisserie etc. This shopping centre also closed very early , at 20:00. Obviously we can't compare it with some massive shopping centre in Quebec or Australia I've been to, after all France is not that big a country, but hopefully, another new shopping centre around the stade velodrome football stadium, which is going to be constructed in 2015 and completed by the end of 2017, will stimulate us with some new shopping idea and surprise.
