We didn’t walk around the park itself so can’t comment on how that part. In all honesty, for us, the Palace part itself was enough to warrant visiting. It’s one of the most stunning buildings I’ve ever seen. We were completely in awe, especially at the part where you can stand next to the fountain and watch the water flowing. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

On my visit all the water features were functioning making for an impressive display. The buildings either side host museums/galleries and behind a pleasant park

A short metro journey and short walk from the centre brings you to this stunning palace. Fantastic stonework, fountains and waterfalls. Great for photos and sitting on the grass taking it all in. You must visit!

You will see this big monument up the hill at the end of a broad boulevard. It's monumental 19th Century architecture and you can wander around it and the lovely gardens.

it easy to access with metro and some minutes walking in some area that perhaps remember to someone an old France. The building is very big, have nice view from the top, waters and green trees adding the colors for some nice photos here.

The palace itself is quite nice, even a bit impressive. Especially given that it was built just because the aqueduct arrived in Marseille.

The park was rather disappointing though. Especially the part with the "Funny Zoo" which was absolutely ridiculous. What a joke. Poorly maintained as well.

This was a lovely part of our walk around town. You really can't miss it as you head up the hill from the port and walk along the parks. This is a true monument and sort of takes your breath away. Very 19th Century.

Palais Longchamp is a beautiful building in a lovely park. It was constructed in the 19th century as a way of celebrating the construction of a canal that carried water to the city from the Durance River. This also explains all the lovely water and other features which are part of the whole works. There are many sculptures which bear a symbolic meaning relevant to the water works. For example the three female figures at the top of the fountain represent the river, fruit and fertility. The building also houses two museums, the Musée des Beaux-Arts, and the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle. The garden is also very nice and a lovely place to walk and relax. We came here by train, or the Metro, but there are other forms of transport as well. A visit is highly recommended.

Easy to reach in the city! By Buses and taxies For all kind of purposes. Clean, nice garden with plants and flowers, banches to rest.
There is stairs and a hill to climb.
Enjoy

Impressive facade with beautiful gardens and stunning fountains. We went on Saturday morning and had it virtually to ourselves. Interesting art collection, well worth a visit.
