This lovely square is in a great spot, being in the Old Port area and somehow secluded from too much traffic. We passed by here and thought it was good, so stopped and had a cup of coffee which was very enjoyable. Apparently, according to archaeological evidence, the area may well be the very spot where the ancient Greek Agora, or Market Place used to be, during the times when the ancient Greeks were the founders and settlers of Marseille. Worth a stop if you happen to be nearby. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants around.…

Wonderful place for breakfast sitting in the sun with a view down the hill to the marina. No frills but typical French with good coffee and croissants. Relatively quiet on a square with breakfast at around £5 including orange juice.

Fantastic square near Rue du Panier. A selection of cafes and bars and a delightful shop selling ice cream. Sunny day. Enjoyable sun trap.
