I spent 4 weeks in the fall of 2016. I was placed in an upper intermediate group and my main teacher was Peggy. Positive aspects: Interesting people who had come from all corners of the world to participate. Wonderful location Negative aspects: Outdated material and...More

I had planned to attend a course at the Institut de Francais and this year I was finally able to travel to Villefranche to “submerse” myself in the French language and French culture. It is 4 months since left the Insitute and I have been...More

About three years of research culminated in me attending the four-week December 2017 session at l’Instutut de Francais in Villefranche-sur-Mer. For those of you who want the bottom line: They delivered on every promise they made, and they exceeded expectations. If you’re considering a language...More

I attended the April 4-week course in 2018 at the Institut de Français, Villefranche-sur-Mer on the Côte d’Azur (next door to Nice). I have to say the standard of instruction was nothing short of excellent. Hardly surprising since the Institute has had 60 years of...More

I would say that to study at l’Institut de Francais is a once in a lifetime experience but that wouldn’t be entirely accurate, for I just finished my third splendid month there since 2010. In fact, I was one of many returning students during my...More

The classes are too large (10 at least, up to 20 for some sessions). The days are too long -9 hours- with only 5 hours of instruction the rest being breaks and meals. You speak with the professor no more than 10 minutes a day....More

it would be a challenge to town but they can be accommodating to special situations like yours and place you in housing very close to the school, if available.

Hi, I can't help but continue to get more and more interested in this program from what I've been hearing. I have such a passion to really getting myself familiar with the language to an extent that I feel comfortable speaking it and no longer shy as you stated. I am currently a first year at McGill Univerisity in Montreal and I feel as if this is the perfect time for me to take what I would have learned here and continue my progress during the school year. However, after applying was when I realized that the minimum age for a student is 21, I am 18. I was wondering if there were any exceptions to this rule. Perhaps students that exemplify enough maturity or students that demonstrate their true passion for learning the language? I would love to have the opportunity to hear your insight on this topic if you can and hope that there is a way I can enroll this summer. Please let me know, Iman
