The water in VilleFranche is begging to be jumped in! The golden blue and green colour that make it perfect for snorkelling, and also gazing out at as you walk along the coast and harbour. The old city harbour walls add a historic feel, and if you keep walking past the harbour and onto the coastal path, it's breath taking!

On the way to Monaco from Nice we got off the bus and spent a few hours walking around the harbor and having lunch. Really a beautiful little town with great sea side views. Really glad we stopped. Numerous places to eat along the waterfront

Take bus or train from nice to Villefrance sur Mer, a great views in front of u when u get off the bus, then walk along the narrow road till the beach. It will be closer to the beach if u take the train, hard to lose in the narrow streets. The sea is so blue so clean! Several families... More

A lovely stroll along the waterfront round the base of the Citadel, make sure you walk out along the jetty with the little light beacon at the end for amazing views of the Citadel and Villefranche bay. Go to the snackbar on the left as you walk into the harbour itself (the happy whale is what I think it translates... More

Definitely recommended if you happen to be in the area. Villefranche-sur-Mer is definitely a quaint and charming little town. The port is full of little bars and (sometimes overpriced) restaurants and it's the perfect starting point to explore the narrow streets of the old town. You can probably visit the port and old town in half a day, so perhaps... More

It is so tranquil to walk along the harbour with its small pleasure craft but especially the tiny colourful fishing boats. Coffee or a light lunch at La Jolie Baleine is highly recommended.

We just had one night in this village but wished we had longer. The harbor is beautiful, all kinds of boats, yachts, cruise ships, fishing boats.Lots of good restaurants especially Restaurant Trastevere..Talked to the local fisherman with his great haul of large tuna on board. The beach is stony but pleasant to sit by. You need about three days in this village to explore... More

wonderful harbour to walk around. There is a small beach behind this harbour that no one seems to know about and a great little bar - no food just drinks.
