Highly recommend! We visited as a group of 12 in April 23 for a wine tasting, and this was a highlight of our trip. We tasted 4 wines and had a fantastic spread of cheese and breads for a very reasonable cost. Lydie was a fantastic host and had the perfect balance of informing us about the wines, but allowing us time to chat as friends and enjoy too!
The wines were beautiful, and Lydie kindly catered for someone with dietary requirements in our group by offering them gin alternatives, which was also so delicious many of us bought some to fly home!
This was a fantastic experience and I highly reccomend. Thank you so much Lydie for making our special trip even more memorable :)

Visited this charming little shop which is down a staircase hidden away in a lane. What a lovely array of fine wines and liquors. My husband purchased a bottle of wine at a very reasonable price and he is currently enjoying it greatly!

We were lucky enough to be staying in St. Paul de Vence and La Petite Cave de Saint Paul was a true gem. We visited many, many times. They were helpful with choices for our meals and were very knowledgable about the local wines. We really enjoyed La Petite Cave.

The salesman spoke English while saying goodbye to two Americans leaving. I said Bonjour not thinking he thought I spoke French. He mumbled something to me very fast, so I couldn’t tell if he was speaking Chinese, French or English. I didn’t want to insult his mumbling and paused. He seemed offended by my pause and mumbled something again. I apologized I didn’t understand him. He snarled, “Oh you speak English. You know we are in France so we speak French. I never....” He was so haughty and mean. We will see about shipping cases of wine from a nicer place in Nice.

This is a cannot miss, the staff provides great service and is helpful and friendly . The stock is very large covering all price points. We have been to California winemakers but this is something that you can see in the French wines and the staff is wonderful.

I wish we could have spent more time here. It was so fascinating to see, very traditional, and filled with what I'm sure was great wine. We really wanted to get something, but it just didn't make sense with our travel schedule, the hot day we were having, and the impracticality of moving the wine and storing it at our hotel. That being said, it was a great stop!

We stumbled upon this little cellar while exploring st-paul-de-vence. They were in the middle of a tasting with a small group but we were able to slip in and shop. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in recommending some regional wines to try. I was also able to snag a bottle of lavender liquor that is delicious. One of the reds they recommended we brought home with us and just recently opened. It was wonderful, I wish we would have bought more!

I've been to many a chateau, wine tasting etc... all over the world. Friends wanted to come here, and, to be honest, I thought it was just going to be another pleasant wine tasting experience. Well... I was wrong (unusual that I admit that). La Petite Cave is sublime in its simplicity. Yes you have to be 5 people for a 'tasting' but lets face it, not that tough to find 5 people who want to drink wine. We booked for 6 people but turned up with 8 and Romain was happy to accommodate. One of the extra guests REALLY knows his wine and has probably tasted more than his fair share of the extraordinary wines of the world, but still, he learned something and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Romain was flexible, we could have changed what we wanted to taste at the last minute, he really knows his stuff and is genuinely passionate about wine. Also his English is perfect. There was no push to sell, on the contrary, we were pushing to buy after tasting some of the excellent local wines! I went back a week later with pretty much the same people, thats how much we enjoyed it. My days of shopping for wine at the supermarket are over! I now know I can get better quality at the same price or better thanks to La Petite Cave.

We popped in here for a quick tasting and education session with Roman whilst in St Paul de Vence, thinking we'd be back in Nice in an hour or two. What we experienced instead was a highly enjoyable experience that truly became the highlight of our visit to this stunning historical town and possibly our entire stay in the Nizzardo.
We chose a bottle of delicious, biodynamic Cote de Provence wine and embarked on a wine tasting master class with Roman. I honestly learned a tonne from Roman, he was super knowledgeable and passionate with absolutely no pretention. The tour of the cellar was also enriching.
If you find yourself in St Paul de Vence you must visit Roman!

A small place, but small in the best possible, historically interesting way. A must-see just architecturally. But more importantly, speaking as a wine enthusiast and many-time visitor over the past month, there is a terrific, thoughtfully-curated selection of not only great regional/local small producer wines, but many of the best wines from all over France, including Champagne! With new things coming in all of the time. And we received an incredible amount of friendly, patient guidance from Romain, an enthusiastic and knowledgable expert in the art of wine and food. Not to miss.

Is it possible to book a wine tasting for two people?
Carla W
Fontvieille, Monaco104 contributions
Hi, There is a minimum of 5-6 people to make it worth their while financially as it only costs 20 Eur per head. But I am sure that if you were willing to pay 100 Eur for the two of you they would agree. As I am sure you can imagine, doing a wine tasting for 40 Eur would be a loss as just the cost of the 3 wines they open is well over 40 Eur let alone the other costs.
