I can't really tell you for sure. We purchased tickets at the front door/entry and on that day there was no line up. Other days may be more busy e.g. if tour groups are there.

I took a couple of hours all in all, the house isn't big, the gardens are quite large but if you are visiting soon I doubt you want to stay outside for long as it is very, very hot at the moment.

Did not see any lockers. Ring the booking office which is situated at the entrance to the gardens.
