It took Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, one of the most original women on the French Riviera, seven years to build one of the most beautiful sites on the Côte d’Azur. An enlightened art enthusiast who travelled back and forth across France and Europe, Béatrice de Rothschild built up an incomparable and eclectic collection of masterpieces: priceless Sèvres and Vincennes porcelain, works by Fragonard, paintings by the masters (Boucher, Carpaccio, Tiepolo, etc.), Louis XVI furniture, and so on.

The house is lovely with its soft pink colour and the gardens are pleasant to walk in. The interior of the house is nice but you see a lot better in the well known stately homes in and around London. What however stands out is firstly the setting: peeking amongst the flowers is the brilliant blue of the Mediterranean Sea,... More

We popped into Villa Ephrussi as part of our Riviera holiday, and it truly is quite wonderful. The house was built & furnished by a wonderfully eccentric countess - she even had a hill moved to have the garden built to her vision. Oh - and she loved the colour pink! The gardens are gorgeous with stunning vistas to both... More

We spent a month in south of France and we go here every year to see the gardens! It is so beautiful ! There is a water show every 20 minutes with opera music in the background!

It is worth spending a few hours to walk the gardens if you are in the area for holiday. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained.

This attraction has a bit of everything; perfect location on top of the hill, hence great views, a surprising variety of rooms and a beautiful garden. The only reason I gave a 4 out of 5 star rating is that they were preparing a party the day we visited. Posters all over the place apologizing for this but that didn't... More

We visited this Villa by bus from Villefranche - a very easy trip. The bus stops at the bottom of the long, steep drive and the views of the sea and expensive villas, as you walk to the top, are simply stunning. Remember to take a copy of your passports when visiting venues, as sometimes you don't have to pay... More

Must not miss this fantastic place, just as amazing inside as the garden is outside. Very well presented with amazing views. Just a stunning place, where you could dream of living. Plenty of photograph opportunities. One amazing room after the other inside and great balcony to enjoy the view over the gardens with music synchronized fountains. Possibility of lunch on... More

Spectacular viewing points and wonderful gardens make this a place not to miss. Visited in August and expected the Rose Garden to be over but there were still flowers. The gardens are laid out in different themes so there's something for everyone. The musical accompaniment to the fountain display is worth seeing from the balcony of the house as well... More
