Visited Grimaud on the way to Port Grimaud was spectacular. The views of the valley and mountains surrounding this quaint little village was amazing. The village itself was so beautiful. We enjoyed the walk around the village admiring the beautiful buildings, houses and the view

As a change from the busy coastal resorts, Grimaud is definately worth a visit. It has the smallest church I’ve seen, only 5 seats! You can park outside the village and it’s a 5 minute stroll to the centre of the village.

The Templer founded this Castle during the time of the Crussades It is now a ruin but larger parts are still existing It is a climb up to the monumental castle but the breathtaking view over the bay of St Tropez rewards you

It’s a bit of a struggle to get to on a hot day but the view of the castle and the views from it will make the hard slog really worthwhile.

We first went to Saint Tropez which was garish, too many people, too many cars and the views of the town were completely spoiled by yachts almost as high as the buildings themselves. Having decided to leave we drove up to Grimaud village and what...More

Our boat will be in St Tropez port from 12:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday May 19th. How far is Grimaud castle and Grimaud port? How far is the Thorten Abbey and can you tour on a Sunday? Thanks, Mary

Took me a while to figure out what you are looking for. You are looking for Abbey at Le Thoronet. You could really only do one of your two choices. A round trip taxi From St Tropez to Fort Grimaud would be about 80 euros. It's about 6 miles. Le Thoronet is a different story. The Abbey is lovely, but Le Thoronet is quite isolated. Buses are infrequent....a taxi would be well over 200 euros.
