This is a trip we’ve had in mind for a while and have now been able to complete part of it. There are works going on from Annot to Digne so we couldn’t do that section but we’ll be back. The steam train starts again...More

This is a very enjoyable day out from the Gare de Provence. We took the 9:30 am Saturday ride (expecting English commentary, but that evidently ends mid-Sept.) The scenery was gorgeous, especially the lake past Annot. However, due to track maintenance we had to transfer...More

Looking at some of the latest reviews I am not sure they relate to this line, which is from a separate station from Nice Ville i.e.the main railway station. This station is spacious and full of information about not only the Train des Pignes, but...More

Take an Uber! The staff at the train station were rude, unhelpful and passive aggressive if you don’t speak French. There were multiple pick pockets roaming the station. If you do go be mindful and watch your belongings closely. They are there for a reason-...More

Wow! What a day! My wife and I were lucky enough to be travelling from Nice to Annot, one way only, on a Sunday. We travelled by standard diesel train from Nice to Pujet-Thenieres, 8:25am from Nice, which gave us plenty of time to then...More

The website was giving the information about the closure, but not knowing the geography I didn't realize that more than half of the line was close and replaced by a bus. Obviously it was the most beautiful part (the mountainous one) with bridges, tunnels and...More

Lovely train journey through gorges and up into the mountains. The scenery is wonderful.! This is not a 5 minute trip and not a frequent cheap service so do your own research to decide which of the many station stops would suit you as each...More

We went to the station on the day of travel. We went the previous day and were told to come back on the day. I would buy tickets on the day as you can gauge the weather.
