Go and see and imagine. The fade colors are proof of a once very nicely and richly decorated little church in the heart of old town nizza. a moment of tranquil reflection in an otherwise busy city (especially in summer). a nice little hideaway.

I would have loved to visit this church as it is very beautiful building on the outside and glimpses through open windows give a tantalizing flavour of the treasures inside. I hope to see inside when we next visit Nice.

At the eastern end of Cours Saleya is the Chapella de la Misericorde (Chapel of Mercy) which belongs to a lay fraternity, the Black Penitents. The chapel is only open for three and a half hours on Tuesday afternoons so we were unable to visit...More

So sad that even with three full days in Nice we couldn't get in to see this church as, others have said, is only open Tuesdays. The outside is pretty.

Your plan for Nice must include time for this apparently stunning church. We were not able to go in, as the church is open one day a week, for eight hours. If you find people celebrating mass inside, I would not hesitate to take a...More

I searched the web for opening times in french and english before setting out to Nice. The best I could find was 1000-1800 Tuesdays only - great it was Tuesday. When we got to the door a tatty bit of paper informed us not open...More
