A remarkably ornate interior is fantastic, well worth lingering for believers and non-believers alike. Located in the heart of the Old Town, so hard to miss.

This church was almost an afterthought as we had already seen quite a few churches. But the effort was well rewarded, free to enter, photos permitted (no flash) and a stunning interior. Every surface is decorated in immense detail. Unfortunately, the ceiling badly needs repairs so give generously if you visit, it would be a terrible shame to lose such a beautiful piece of art.

The church has a Baroque architecture.
Looking at the building, one would clearly notice the similarities between this church and the Church of the Gesù in Rome. The Nice church was influenced by the Piedmontese baroque style with the constraints of a Roman edifice.

I do enjoy watching the detailed declaration of the church as well as the area surrounding it.

Tucked away in a non-descript alley, this church was a wonderful surprise. Inside the walls are continuous frescos and bas-reliefs with lots of detail in its decorations. The use of gesso and gilt on the fluted pilasters brings light to the interior. The trompe l'oeil also add to the unique interior design. There is no escaping the serenity and sanctuary this church offers. Free to enter and enjoy.

Stumbled upon this church while disappointed after finding the Cathedral closed because it closed early on the Saturday before Easter. But I was so happy to see this church instead! A beautiful baroque church with lots of color and ornate decorations on the inside. I was surprised we hadn't read about it on trip advisor, but it it so far down in the list of things to do that we didn't. I think this church definitely deserves a visit. Free to enter and with a double-sided sheet of English information for a small fee if you like.

Walking into the Old town, found the church that says on the front: Divo Jacobo Majori Apostolo. This is a Catholic church. Its not big, small but quite ornate. I especially like the preacher's podium that have the arm sticking out holding a cross. Its definitely worth visiting this church. No Fee.

A very old church located in Old Nice. We wandered in and were stunned by the ornate marble work everywhere, including a lot of sculpture. Very Italian in design. Small but ornate.

We were just walking down to the beach from Garibaldi Square when we passed this church. Just stopped to pop in.

We topped in here during our food tour and were happy for the shade and the historical explanation from our guide. Worth a visit.

This was an interesting old Roman Catholic church on Rue Droite in Old Town Nice. The Jesuits arrived in Nice in 1607 and built a school and then added to it and this church was completed around 1650. The Baroque facade was added in 1825. The church is now between other buildings but worth a look.
