A recent food tour of the old town in Nice was excellent. Marion, who led the small group was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. She obviously loves her job, the food, it’s history and is able to share it with others in a happy and relaxed way. She made the whole experience very enjoyable and the tastings very many and varied. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn about local cuisine and culture.

Miriam is FANTASTIC. So fun and full of knowledge. She took us to the market in Old Town, would buy things from the local vendors for us to taste. Then pass out samples, explain what we were eating, how it was unique to the food culture in Nice', and make it all fun.
In total about 3 hours of walking Old Town with a 'local expert', with a variety of places to visit. Wine, local food specialties, small local artisan shops... absolutely the best way to enjoy Old Town.
And she speaks perfect English and was very easy to understand.

What an amazing way to start a gorgeous day in the seaside city scape of Nice, FR. Our tour guide Frances was enchanting; equal parts French history & current events teacher/friend/tour guide. She took us through an intimate journey through the delicate, romantic & fascinating town of Nice, starting with a chocolate shop & who can argue with that? Then we walked through the AMAZING, Cours Saleya Flower/Farmers Market (which btw, transports into outdoor restaurant dining at later mid-day.) (Side note - the market is daily except Mondays when it is an Antiques Market.) We leisurely strolled past a burst of every color of the rainbow. From the fresh produce to the flowers, it was a feast for the eyes. Frances took us directly to a couple of vendor booths & explained about the local farming culture & what it means to the city & its inhabitants as well as visitors to the area. Then she collected some delicacies to put in her bag to share with us as our excursion next took us to a lovely outdoor café where we sat & enjoyed the BEAUTIFUL platter of fruits & sweets that Frances put together for us. Then, to work that off, we continued to meander through Old Nice & stopped at a "Socca" Shop. We had the Socca & some beer & it was so DELICIOUS! As if our taste buds hadn't been through the gold medal Olympics of flavor already, we stopped at an Olive Oil shop where we sipped several different variations of olive oil & it was heavenly. Next was a visit to one of the older wine shops where Frances set up another beautiful tray of cheese, tomatoes, olive bread & melt-in-your-mouth figs. We were a group of 8 (6 of us travelling together) & we all agreed that this tour is definitely worth it - such a fabulously, captivating splendid mix of flavors & thorough commentary all while enjoying the subtle breezes off the Mediterranean Sea & ducking for shade from the Nice sun. At the end of the tour we asked Frances for local restaurant recommendations for dinners & she provided several & it's that sort of information that takes an ordinary experience to the next level of extraordinary. We absolutely loved every aspect of this tour. Safe travels & happy gastronomy everyone.

Would not recommend The French Way and warn against booking with them!! We booked a Cooking Class in Nice with them, two weeks prior to our selected date. They took payment from us via PayPal, and we never heard back from them again. We tried emailing and calling the number listed on their site multiple times but they never returned communication. We were never provided instructions on where or who to meet so it was impossible to join this experience with them! Our incident has been reported and escalated with PayPal and they are still dark on communication. We are now looking forward to getting this resolved and the return of the money they stole from us.

We were extremely sorry about this situation which is now solved. The cooking class was provided by a partner with who we will not work again.
We unsure our future customers the best experiences in Paris and on the French Riviera with the smoothest communication.

The company called and cancelled the trip on us the day before the trip. They told us that they had a large party to accommodate and we were SOL. Oh well, given the other trips we booked with this company, maybe it was a good thing that we saved the money. Sorry Viator but we will not be using your services in the future,

We were a group of 5 who booked this tour as it seemed a pleasant way to start off a Sat. We had an utterly brilliant time. Marion took us to lots of different food stalls, speciality shops and cafes. Highlights were definitely eating oysters straight from the market stall and eating Soca and drinking wine in the beautiful streets of the old town. Excellent feast at the end full of fresh and local delicacies.

A most enjoyable 3 hours spent with our guide Marion, a charming local lady with a lovely personality. The tour is not cheap but at the end of it we felt we had great value and loved all the tastings, the market stops and our coffee and wine stops. Highly recommended.

We had a two night stay last week in Nice and based on the reviews in Tripadvisor pre-booked on Jan 11th by email, Confirmation for Monday 22nd April received Jan 13th, with full instructions re meeting place and instructions to have a very light breakfast if at all and expect total of 8 food tastings plus 1 olive oil tasting and 1 wine tasting. All extremely well organised so far.
We are at the meeting point but no-one shows up!!!!! We thought we were at the wrong fountain but decided to phone the contact number we had been supplied with and got through to Marion who said there are no tours on a Monday! We were knocked for six. No breakfast and walked for twenty minutes in the rain! Never before has this ever happened to us worldwide. It wasn't helped when Marion asked could she give us the tour on the next day. I told her we were flying home on Tuesday . She said she "maybe "could give us a refund. I was so upset and demanded our money back - €130 already paid in january.
We received a call from Marion later, after we had already booked a lunch in a locally recommended restaurant. Marion offered to do the tour that afternoon, which was of no use to us, and later an apology by way of text suggesting that an individual employed by the company had been supposed to make contact with us to tell us they didn't do tours on a Monday as there was no fresh food market. However this didn't happen and he sent our confirmation email instead.
This was a complete letdown and spoiled our morning totally and I could NOT in all honesty recommend anyone to book with this company

It goes without saying that we apologise profusely for the confusion over this booking.
There was an unfortunate mix up that meant our guide Marion thought that the tour had been cancelled (due to being on a Monday when the market does not operate and various shops are shut) but in fact it hadn’t been.
Alternative times were immediately offered as described above, but weren’t possible for the guest.
We subsequently processed an instant same-day refund.
We hope the other great reviews we’ve had highlight that this was a one off hiccup!

Our guide Marion was absolutely wonderful. She is so knowledgeable about the history and culture of Nice. Really enjoyed this tour!

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Engaging and informative - loved all the food and there was so much more of it than I anticipated. I’m still dreaming of the figs and goats cheese and will not judge a rose by price! Thank you so much and good luck for December!
