I booked tickets for a special occasion. We arrived at the venue shortly before the concert started and the doors were shut. The venue would not pick up the phone and so I called the opera house direct. The man who answered the phone could...More

Only seen outside, as the opera was in holiday during the summer months. It is a great neo classical building. It would be better if it had some square in front of the main entrance, so the building would be visible in its full beauty.

I did not go inside, but the outside looks remarkably . Located in the old town near the market and promenade des Angles.

I'm definitely an opera lover and never miss an opportunity to visit a new opera house. My experience at Opéra de Nice was great: my husband and I have been there twice during this visit: first, for attending the performance of the French Opéra La...More

I went to Opera de Nice for a short concert, including the works of Bizet, Verdi etc. Besides the quality of the music, I was happy to discover that students always pay 5 euro, no matter the "real price". I find it really motivating to...More

This lovely opera house offers terrific opportunities for classical music lovers. In the past, some productions were marred by unpleasant, controversial staging. A new director is coming, fall 2016! Put this experience on your agenda!

When we bought tickets to "Il Barbieri di Seviglia" last month, little did we know we would be sitting in one of the boxes decorating the walls of the curved opera house. It was decadent with its gilt, velvet railings and chairs, and sweeping staircases....More

We have been to several performances at the Opera de Nice (concerts & ballet), & can't recommend it too highly. The building itself is a gorgeous belle époque concoction, with ornate ceilings, faded gold gilding, huge chandeliers & sweeping staircases. Everything looks a little bit...More

We have had the opportunity to attend a few operas (Cosi Fan Tutte most recently) in this place and it offers a good accoustic. Located in the center of the city near the old town of Nice, it is easy to find restaurants around for...More

Casual chic is fine although there were men in suits and women very formally dressed. I wore black trousers and a nice black top with a fancy scarf I could use for warmth or as an accessary.
