I'm definitely an opera lover and never miss an opportunity to visit a new opera house. My experience at Opéra de Nice was great: my husband and I have been there twice during this visit: first, for attending the performance of the French Opéra La Juive, by French composer Halévy; second, for a Gala Night. The building is gorgeous, located... More

I went to Opera de Nice for a short concert, including the works of Bizet, Verdi etc. Besides the quality of the music, I was happy to discover that students always pay 5 euro, no matter the "real price". I find it really motivating to come back at least once per month. However, apparently I was still the only student.

This lovely opera house offers terrific opportunities for classical music lovers. In the past, some productions were marred by unpleasant, controversial staging. A new director is coming, fall 2016! Put this experience on your agenda!

When we bought tickets to "Il Barbieri di Seviglia" last month, little did we know we would be sitting in one of the boxes decorating the walls of the curved opera house. It was decadent with its gilt, velvet railings and chairs, and sweeping staircases. We felt like royalty. This particular opera wasn't shown in its original version, instead being... More

The feeling you get in this opera house just brings you back in time. You can book tickets online for a show and pick them up when you arrive, or pay on arrival. Be sure to arrive early so you can get a private booth. You must visit here while in Nice!

We have been to several performances at the Opera de Nice (concerts & ballet), & can't recommend it too highly. The building itself is a gorgeous belle époque concoction, with ornate ceilings, faded gold gilding, huge chandeliers & sweeping staircases. Everything looks a little bit shabby chic & in need of a facelift but this kind of adds to the... More

We have had the opportunity to attend a few operas (Cosi Fan Tutte most recently) in this place and it offers a good accoustic. Located in the center of the city near the old town of Nice, it is easy to find restaurants around for a dinner before or after the show.

I really like the looks of the Opera de Nice (official name Opéra Nice Côte d'Azur). Small wonder it’s been designated a historic monument. A building this magnificent deserves to front on a grand square.

Nice opera house is a beautiful building. The grand interior design is the best I have seen .We were lucky to see a ballet performance during our short stay in Nice. The ballet company ( Ballet Nice Mediterranee, Eric Vu-An Artistic Director) gave a most spectacular performance. Well worth a visit if they happen to have a performance during one's... More

I only saw this building from the outside but was worth the visit just to get some great photos and it's close to many other spots of interest
