This historic part of Nice feels like a medieval village with narrow streets curving between old buildings with red-tile roofs, small restaurants and open-markets.

The buildings are quintessential Mediterranean, and the area is rich with history and culture. The area feels safe, and there are so many great restaurants and shops in which to eat and peruse... There are four old cathedrals to explore within about a square half-mile,...More

We did a LOT of walking through and into Old Town, and loved it. Very walkable area, with tons of shops and restaurants. Not everything was open while we were there, as it was out of season. We liked the fact it wasn't as crowded,...More

So glad we took time to wander through these streets of pretty shops and stylish restaurants! My favourite: Maison Auer, a gem of a shop with beautiful displays of candied fruit, chocolate, jams - great for gifts to take home.

Best place for a stroll in the narrow lanes. Looking out for hidden genuine restaurants and interesting shops. Cozy atmosphere.

Nice part of Nice away from all the designer shops. Check out the little streets during the day with fellow tourists as was surprised how quiet it was during the evening with just a few random people wandering about as all shops closed.

A great place to wander round. Narrow lanes and alleys with plenty of bars, cafes, shops and restaurants. Nice to explore in the early evening.

A must-see when in Nice. Quaint streets, packed with tourists. Traditional old buildings, very close to one another, small shops, souvenirs less expensive than in the vicinity of the grand hotels. Loved the markets. Plenty of restaurants, quite pricey, but you get used to this.

A must see if your staying in nice. Many small restaurants to choose from. But a warning the place is super packed between July to October. You get a bit lost at 1st but after a couple times you find your way! Heaps of souvenirs...More

There is some road construction as you approach Nice but is concentrated near the harbour. I was there in June so it may be finished. It did not look to be a massive project. Happy travels.
