Beautiful Baroque Cathedral in heart of Old Nice. Original construction started in 1650 and was finished in 1685. Expansions were added over the years. The Bell Tower was added in 1731-57 and the church was finally completed and declared a minor basilica in 1949. Dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and Sainte Reparata. The ornate interior includes ten chapels.

Lovely ornate cathedral open to the public and truly solanel. The story of Sainte Reparate is really miraculous. Take time to simply meditate for a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Located in Old Town, Cathedrale Sainte-Reparate is very unassuming from the outside but you need to appreciate the ornate interior.

Exquisite baroque style cathedral. Open to the public. No charge. From the outside, it doesn't look like anything special but inside, it's spectacular.

This cathedral is in Old Town and a great location as it has restaurants and bars virtually right next door . The cathedral has the most amazing architecture with the high beams and is quite surprising when you walk in from the street, the decor is also astounding with stain glass windows and many statues well worth the visit

This baroque gem is located in the middle of the Old Town of Nice (Vieille Ville), some 600 metres west from Place Massena and 550 metres south from Place Garibaldi.
It dates back to 1699 and it took almost 50 years for finishing.
The cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of Nice and it is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and Saint Reparata.
The Cathedral of Saint Reparata or just simply Nice Cathedral has been proclaimed as one of the national monuments of France since 1906.
Warm recommendation!

During our exploring Old Town we found this church, absolutely beautiful inside, makes you to stop and contemplate. They had tickets for the classical concert on the evening couple days later and few euros were very well spend. Before performance started we were upgraded to great seats. Music in this acoustic sounded so good, musician and singer make this evening so memorable. Try if you have opportunity.

Saw the amazing dome of the cathedral when we were up castle hill and the interior is as nice as the outside. Very peaceful inside and well worth a stop for a seat and contemplation, regardless of religion.

The cathedral is dedicated to Ste Reparate, a young martyr, and is quite beautiful and worth seeing. There are informational plaques throughout the cathedral explaining the art in detail. The church became a cathedral in the 16th century, and has a layout similar to St. Peter's in Rome, including a triple nave and transept. The chapels are incredibly beautiful and are well worth seeing. Please don't miss this jewel of Nice!
