This is well worth a visit, a gem in a fairly dull corner of Nice. We booked a guided tour which was very interesting includes a visit to private chapel and full explanation of history of the cathedral and all the icons. Cathedral was restored about 18 months ago and looks superb

Worth the effort, this one room church has magnificent architecture. Hard to believe a building this big is just one room.

Went to visit the church. You need to check when it is open. My wife is orthodox so we visited the church. Worth the visit.

A service was just ending when we arrived. The church is better outside than inside. People were very helpful and encouraged us to go inside.

PLan your route carefully. Entry is really only possible from Blvd Tzarewitch. Ignore the Closed signs on the left and central gates, and the sign saying closed at 1700. Use the small right hand gate. It stays open until 1730. Some guide books say there is a charge for entry. there is not...although they welcome donations, of course. Inside it... More

What an amazing building. A good walk from the centre of Nice, and although following the signs for it, you can't see it til you're right in front of it and it is beautiful sitting in the trees. Glorious colours and shapes outside, and even more impressive inside. I'm not religious but I was moved by the beauty of the... More

I beleive this is the first Russian Orthodox cathedral built outside of Russia. There is a big Russina minority living in Nice since the end of 19th century. Many Russians settled here after the 1917 revolution. The cathedral has an interesting architecture.
