Gallerise Lafayette is on one side, and the old town on the other. There are parks coming off it and a central tram stop. A super place to shop, walk, sit or eat. Caters to all budgets. Bright and light during the day and lit by interesting modern statues at night!

It's a fairly nice street for walking and shopping, mostly without car traffic, but trams and lots of bikes around. Bit dirty after busy day.

It was easy to walk along with young children. Plenty of shops just as you would expect in a city centre. It was pretty basic.

This is a traffic-free wide main shopping street with mainly designer and big-name shops, cafes and some Restaurants, as well as Churches. It offers a big multi-storey shopping centre also. About 1/3 are open on Sundays only. The public service trams operate in this street but no other general traffic. This is a very attractive main street.

This is the main street where the tram goes up and down and have lots of shopping stores. The Monoprix supermarket, McDonalds, cafe and restaurants are all in this area. I used this street as the main focal point to find where I was in retrospect to places I needed to walk. From Place Messena and up to Ave Jean... More

Nice selection of shops. Pedestrianised but beware of the regular trams when crossing the road. Place Massensa , with its statues and fountains are well worth a visit, this leads towards the old town

These streets are always bustling with tourists and locals alike shopping at all the stores that line the street. Mainly clothing stores, but you can probably find anything you need on this strip. It is very commercial. Not many cute little shops like there are in old town.
