This street is majestic. I walked both sides in the street's entirety--from Castle Hill down to Parc Phoenix (on the Mediterranean side) and from Parc Phoenix back to Castle Hill (on the hotel/casino/city side). In truth, both are worth exploring, but it can be a bit much (about 4 miles each way). If you aren't up for that, I recommend staying seaside, but make sure to cross and check out Hotel Negresco and Villa Masséna Musée on the city side.

I got an early start (I was out there around 07h30 on a Saturday, and it was great. The sunrise was beautiful through the clouds, and the seaside breeze was the perfect accoutrement to mid-seventies weather. For anyone going to Nice, taking a stroll down the Promenade is an absolute must. At the very least, I would walk from Castle Hill down past the beaches (closer to 2 miles instead of 4). Such a great experience!

Enthusiastically,

Clayton Cohn

We walked a good length of the Promenade des Anglais on a warm, sunny day en route to the Musee des Beaux Arts from Place Massena. The stroll allowed us to check out the various beaches and we ultimately settled on lunch and an afternoon at the private Blue Beach. The walk should be included on any visit to Nice.

To feel the city vibes and get the enchanting views of the city, Promenade des Anglais is the spot to be at. From morning to late nights the promenade is bustling with activities and providing excellent views of Nice. One of the best places to rent a bike or roller skates to drive around.

It's not an especially pretty street, but very long, so you can enjoy a good walk. The views over the beach are nice at night time, and there are plenty of chairs and benches to rest and people watch.

A fair few places to stop and eat, including the Hard Rock Cafe, though nothing particularly cheap if you're on a budget.

One of the must-go places in Nice. The view is spectacular. You can see the whole beach and shoreline including the most beautiful road stretch in Nice. You will need to climb flights of stairs though up to about 90 meters or so is elevation. Take breaks and take in the view from different levels. There are seat-outs and gardens at the top

An amazing view and a must see!! It was breathtaking. We were able to visit on a scooter tour and it was well worth it. You are able to see the sea and much of the city. If you look close enough, you can see Elton John’s house on a mountain top.

The Promenade was not designed for walking, it was designed for strolling. Nevertheless, you'll find people jogging, running, cycling, and standing in place to see the magnificent view of beaches, swimmers, The Negroni in the distance or taking selfies at the I LOVE NICE Instagram area. We spent the afternoon just looking at the Mediterranean and that time was not wasted. Matisse, Chekhov, Picasso, Bono, Elton John, Kate Moss, Beyonce and others have all walked or driven along this amazing gift to the French Riviera. You're next.

We had a nice stroll along the western part of this promenade on a quiet Thursday lunchtime recently. The weather was quite warm although cloudy but that didn't deter people jogging, cycling, scooting or simply strolling up and down such as ourselves. What I missed were any obvious public restrooms on the part that we walked. Oh, and you get some great views of planes just taking off from the nearby airport and banking quite dramatically to the south over the sea before finding their way to climb up to their relevant cruising altitude.

Every step you take on the Promenade des Anglais is a photo opportunity. Sumptuous Historical Luxury Hotels on one side, Mediterranean on the other. The curve of the coast beautifullly presented below the views from Castle Hill. People stroll while others sit on the famous blue chairs absorbing the glory of this beautiful spot. Shame about the quiet electric scooters that zoom close by.

My wife and I enjoy walking alongside the water and people watch. We enjoyed seeing the launch of people doing parachute flying. We sat a a beach restaurant and had a cold drink. We were not rushed at all. Thoroughly enjoyable.
