I visited on a Saturday on a cloudy rainy day.. I figured there would be lots of people but I was the only one in the whole museum! The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are 4 floors to the museum with the bottom floor being Egyptian and the others have a mix of roman and Greek sculptures and... More

Got a cab to this museum but stopped by the post office across the street to get stamps. The gentleman working there didn't know much about it however it is the most beautiful place in Mougin. You can see all in 30 minutes. A good place to take kids too. What I loved was how they mixed very modern pieces... More

All you really need to know and see about Greek, Roman, Persian, et al, war tools, helmets, etc. Some gorgeous Egyptian sarcophagi, Mosaic floors, sprinkled in with more modern interpretations by the likes of Picasso, Degas, Modigliani, Braque. Marble and bronze busts of emperors you knew and loved, as well. Fans of ancient warfare, Delight!

The collection of attic, corynthian, roman, etruscan helmets is impressive by any standards. Very interesting armours as well as swords and spears. Interesting (but not convincing) combination of classic sculptures, mainly Roman busts and ancient Egypt artifacts with modern art pieces (mainly paintings) of classic subjects by masters such as Picasso, Matisse, Chagall Cezanne, Rodin, Warhol, Moore and Dali.

This is the best private art collection I have visited! A very good mix of classical and few contemporary art. We can feel the great taste and love of the art of the owner. I highly recommend this gallery to any art lover!

The museum juxtaposes ancient art with more modern pieces, and the list of 'modern' artists reads like a role-call of the top end Europeans. In practice much of the modern work is small-scale, and the matching process didn't always work for me - though sometimes it was stunningly good. Unless you're into armour and weapons, though, which takes up the... More

This museum is unique in so many ways- the juxtaposition of ancient and modern art is amazing and surprisingly effective. It's a relatively small museum which makes it easy to see the whole thing without overdoing it. It's beautifully set up on four floors, well organized and beautiful. It's a very eclectic collection of art, something for everyone. And the... More

The founder of this museum sounds fascinating, having started his collection aged 7. Now it is a stunning array of objects from antiquity juxtaposed with paintings and sculptures from a wide range of artists. The cabinet with the ancient Roman statue of Venus together with, for instance, works by Yves Klein and Andy Warhol was particularly playful and interesting. Loved... More

We've been a few times and it is a small museum by city standards but huge by small village standards. Very well laid out and presented exhibits, which are a mixture of themes. Professionally done, excellent lighting and information. Highly recommended.
