This museum is outstanding! Each item is a marvel, but the uniqueness stems from the blending of epoques to subjects within a beautiful, high tech environment designed both to preserve (the items) and inspire (the viewers). The juxtaposition of the ancient with a sprinkling of the modern proved to be extremely informative. Humbling was the pair of gold earrings of... More

This small museum has a large collection of Roman, Greek and Egyptian artefacts. Together with this, they have juxtaposed twentieth century art by Picasso, ChAgall, Modigliani, Cocteau, Henry Moore... Inspired by classical themes. Try to spot an autographed prop from the Gladiator movie in the armoury section! The leisurely paced visit takes about an hour. Full price ticket is 12... More

This is an amazing museum, small, ultra modern museum with tactile screens in various languages giving you the whole story of the pieces of history you're looking at, then giving you the oppositions differences. The pieces on show are of extraordinary quality, especially those that really date. The museum also has modern sculptures and paintings famous in the contremporary art... More

It was a fabulous surprise - in the best possible way. I admire people who invest in buying gorgeous art and even more so when they actually share their collection with the rest of the world. As an art fanatic who lives in Paris - I was totally bowled over by this elegant gem of a museum. Will be back... More

This is a superbly designed museum. Packed with interesting artefacts from across many eras of History. Wonderfully presented over four floors with the top floor housing the most amazing collection of helmets and weapons. Main focus is Roman but there is quite a range of other seriously interesting pieces as well. An absolute must visit when in the area. If... More

Small museum, very well organised with some very nice pieces or art. Recommended for all and more especially for kids, the theme and size of the museum is perfect for them.

This museum has quite an eclectic collection. You will find Warhols on display next to relics from Ancient Rome, Picassos next to a bust of Marcus Aurelius. Worth a visit.

Great to see modern art and classical art presented side by side according to theme - based around ancient civilisations. Something for all age groups - our 8 and 10 year olds had learned about Greek and Roman civilisations so lots to interest them. While small (less than an hour recommended per stay), the layout and presentation are excellent with... More

The stunning displays of this private collection are so cleverly layed out with a brilliant guide for both adults and children alike. The mix of old [ 2000 BC !!] to modern [ present day] not only catches the eye... More

We had a fantastic visit to the Mougins Museum of Classical Art - having heard about it, the visit in person absolutely surpassed my expectations. Beautifully arranged, displayed and curated, at every turn there is something exciting and interesting to discover. I particularly loved the juxtaposition of the ancient and the modern, the classical sculptures, display of coins and jewellery,... More
