I have just returned from a four day break in Menton and would thoroughly recommend it. The walk though the old town is lovely with lots of little walkways to explore. A wander up to the church is a must. There is an abundance of restaurants to choose from either on the promenade along the beachfront or in the old... More

Menton is a very appealing town with a sense of civic pride. The port is worth a visit to gain an idea as to how the local people live and earn a living. Bring a camera! The scenery is very attractive and the market is better value than the ones over the border in Italy. The town centre is pretty... More

Very nice place and great pictures to make on it. Do not forget to climb on the steep tiny cobbled streets to get the cemetery above the hill! It may be a tiring climb but you will be rewarded with beautiful views over the whole town of Menton, its great harbout and elegant tombs as well. All are must-see attractions.

Menton is such an peaceful place to stay. We have stayed there on each of our 4 trips to France. Walking distance to everything, shops. beach, bus and train. Have found the folk of this town mostly friendly. So much to see here, so much history. A short train ride into Italy to a fantastic market. Menton has several outdoor... More

Menton was a breath of fresh air, stunning simple beauty; history, markets, fine food, shopping, easy travel to Italy or Nice (and outside), great weather and a walkers paradise. Spent several days relaxing and every day was a new discovery in the colorful streets and hills of the town. You go a long way to find a place where you... More

This is by far my favorite hill town both here in France and Italy. It has so much to offer to make it a wonderful place to visit. There is Jacques Cocteau musee if you want to start on a more formal basis but the town itself is a delight. There a long promenade by the sea with many restaurants... More

By far, Menton is our favorite beach town of France. We walked through the promenade, sat at the beautiful beach enjoying the sun, walked our way up through narrow streets full of old charms to the old cemetery on top of the hills with spectacular view of Menton at the sunset, then made our way down and enjoyed great seafoods... Menton on the Cote d Azure is a fabulous holiday destination..The old town with it's s old churches is so full of character and beauty you could spend hours there. At the foot of the stairs is a little cafe/bistro which is quite quaint and inexpensive..The train station is easy to get to and Monaco/Monte Carlo is only two stops away... Situated on the French Riviera along the franco-Italian border, its nicknamed "the Pearl of France".The arrival into the port is beautiful. The promenade which is 3 km long, has a lovely curve populated with lounging patrons sipping and supping.in the glorious sunshine. You feel the tranquility immediately. There are little groves of orange and lemon trees,in full fruit, decorating the boulevards and squares. Its also... More
