Why does this beach have such high ratings? We went there and actually drove away in search of somewhere else. It is a narrow strip of sand right next to a main road and CROWDED to the point of virtually no space on the sand. Some of the photos here are misleading (probably taken in winter!). Given Covid, it's a hotspot to pick something up from the strangers that will be sitting virtually on your towel. I recommend the beaches closer to St Tropez, like those around La Croix-Valmer instead. Far bigger, better sand, less crowded.

The beach was nice and sandy, but most of it is private, taken by restaurants and their lounge-chairs. Personally, I actually want to feel the sand when I am on a sand beach, so I was looking for the public beach. For that you need to walk a while, and when you reach it, it is overcrowded - especially problematic in this corona-period. Also, the sea on the beach is not really clean.

Each town/village along the coast has a different vibe. JLP is all about music. It is quieter than some of its neighbours, and seems a bit more chilled. Well worth a visit.
