The long walk up the hill is worth the view that you have from the wall overlooking the city. You can see all the way to the Med. Not much of a park but it is a respite from the climb.

I loved the smells of lavender and other plants and the view at the top but don't expect a typical parc like in other cities. I thought with the name "Parc St Bernard" there would be open spaces and parts with grass and winding lanes down the hill. It's very different , you basically climb steps and the plants are around you and there are a few lanes but most of the parc is made of staircases. The part i liked best was like a lane at the top kind of like a platform It might be difficult for some elderly people. Getting by car to the top and then coming down seems like a good idea suggested in another review. Villa Noailles was closed when i went so i didn't go there. The Parc st Bernard is really worth a visit in spring. The most fabulous plants and flowers. However it is on a hill so to not be afraid of steps! Well recommended is to park at the Villa Noilles at the top of the hill, admire the panoramic views, make your way down and then a 10 minute walk following well indicated signs you will come to Parc st Claire. You can climb up and back down the stairs and admire the wildlife and spectacular view and then turn left when exiting and follow the top road back to where you started. I went with two older ladies and even though one used a walking stick they managed all the steps. The house was closed when we visited but newly renovated it reopens on the 21st April 2016 this year. …
