My mate and I were only in Cannes for a couple of days and decided to take a ferry to the larger island. We wanted to visit both but didn't have the time. The ferry is very inexpensive and we found this to be a peaceful, scenic day trip. We wandered all over the island from the rocky shores to... More

Just a short boat-ride from Cannes or Juan Les Pins, well worth a visit given how crowded and noisy this area of France can be. Plenty of deserted coves for swimming and lazing around or the monastery for the more active - you can easily spend a day in the Lerins without getting bored. They're very quiet, although the smaller... More

I really enjoyed the two islands (on separate trips). I think the smaller is best for tourists as there is the monastery and small shop with items made by the brothers and the walk is shorter if you are fitting it in as part of a busy day sightseeing. The larger island has seemingly unlimited picnic areas and walking the... More

Get lunch made up from the outdoor market behing the boat moorings, wandering the alleys behind the market for great cold cuts, patisseries, etc. Go on the tour of both islands, after reading up about the Man in the Iron Mask! Watch out for sharp coral, embedded in these islands' beaches. Nice easy walk around each island. Don't go in... More

Great views views, not a long journey. Peace and quiet away from the busy towns. Prison cells were interesting, rest of fortress, not so much. There is no proper beach, but its a nice walking area. Nice terrace on the way back down from the fort where you can get a drink, and admire the views. Scorching hot in July!

Took a boat ride and went swimming between the 2 islands. The island of Ste Marguerite is beautiful, you can take a walk accross the island through the "Alley of the Eucalyptus", you will never forget the smell of those trees. Certainly a place to visit if you like nature and calm. (cars are not allowed on this island).

This is a great daytrip: rocky cove swimming (in season); easy relaxing forest hiking trails; quiet if you do your homework and come very early or late; very good boutique with excellent chocolate from partner Abbaye N. D. de Bonnevale plus great honey. *But I've saved the best for last---the wine produced here is worth the trip across an ocean!... More

A cool adventure that has a reasonably priced ferry ride from Cannes. The fort, restaurants and beaches all feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the Cote d'Azur!

We did a day trip here, having rented a small, not expensive, private boat from Antibes (used a company called 212 Yachts, who were good). We went on one island and the walks were lovely, it is nicely shaded from the hot sun in August with the lush trees. From the boat we went all around the 2 islands and... More

Another must see when you are in Cannes, totally different but well worth visiting. A short boat trip over to the islands and some wonderful views.
