The Blue Card is not accepted although it is not mentioned, and it is therefore questionable whether the receptionist earns an undeclared salary or whether the city of Antibes does not declare the benefits of visits to this house bequeathed to it... No vending machines nearby. We were offered to come back the following Saturday which was exceptionally closed, after checking!! Take the coastal path directly, it is beautiful, free and open all week

The quote is not up to date.
We come on a Wednesday as indicated on the quote.
Already impossible to park, no parking and in the streets there is pounding.
I call to ask.
There the Mr answers me open only on Saturday.😡😡😡😡😡
We will not come back.

Have convinced the family to discover this magical site. But what an unpleasant surprise to find the access road condemned and contrary to what is stated on the website - NOT UP TO DATE - visits deleted on Wednesday.
Beautiful welcome of tourists by the town of Antibes!
The Beaumonts had requested that this site be open to the public...
In short, complete disillusionment

The Villa Eilenroc is architecturally one of the most beautiful villas of the Cote d'Azur. Built in 1865 in the style of the Petit Trianon it enjoys an unrivalled site overlooking the aquamarine waters of the bay. Next door is Villa La Croe, sometime home of Wallis Simpson and her husband Edward VII . Unfortunately the last owner Mme Beaumont left the villa to the municipality, who, as is their wont neglect this superb asset. Gone are the beautiful contents, replaced by a miscellany, all unlabelled, of detritus from Mme Beaumont's cupboards. Gone-to-seed are the gardens with greenhouses without a pane of glass, weed-choked paths and an all-pervading area of disinterest and neglect. The attendants are likewise disinterested and sullen, knowing nothing and caring less of the glamorous history of this house.
But go and see this place for it is immeasurably beautiful in its site and in its architecture, but do not expect an uplifting experience much less any refreshment.

The city council (le maire) of Antibes keep the villa closed under the pretense of renovation work for a number of years. Instead it is used for accommodation of special guests whoever they might be.
We have attempted to see the monument several times, different times of the year, over several years. No luck. The factthat there no directions towards the villa is an additional sign that the city council / le maire has no wish open the public monument to the public!
The guardian lady on the gate constantly gets the stick for the maire.

We didn't actually go into the Villa, but we walked the coastal walk from the beach to the villa and it was gorgeous. The walkway per say is rough, rocky and steep at times. I would recommend good walking shoes. It was well worth the effort though.

When we drove up to the gate I knew we had arrived. I was invitied to an opera at the Villa in July 2010. When we walked out from the tall hedges and the house was there in front of us, it was magnificent in every way. The opera was held in the backyard between the villa and the sea. I was so excitied I would be able to tour the villa on 14 July. The mayor was so kind to invite us to his 14 July garden party. The villa was breath taking, I snuck away during the ceremony and took a walk around the villa. The marble bath was amazing, it was 38C I could imagine Mrs Beaumont soaking in a cool tub on such a hot day. The rooms and views of the sea are so beautiful. I would recommend it to all.

A great way to view the scenery of Cap d'Antibes. Stunning view. If you come on the first or third Saturday of the month, you might get to see the villa too

Arrive by number 2 bus from Antibes for only 1 euro. Buses every 40 mins.
Beware though; opening times are 10 to 5 pm Weds and Sats at this time but we arrived to find it closed until 2 pm and only 2 Sats a month now.
and only the gardens open due to an event 'manifestation'.
We killed a lot of time by going down the coastal walk, lovely views, paved in some parts but only for the nimble in some places. Luckily we brought a picnic because there's nowhere to get a drink.
Entry was 2 euros, we explored the grounds for a while, not landscaped, trying to follow the rose garden signs. Found it eventually and it was very pleasant. Scented garden too.
We could walk around the house which had a fabulous terrace with stunning views.
Disappointed no proper web site or up to date info.

My husband and I tried to get in to see Valla Eilenroc during our week in Antibes but found it impossible.
What a pity.

Is the Villa now open for 2018 and are the opening hours still restricted to Wednesday afternoons only?
