Garoupe Lighthouse

This is a worthy landmark goal for any hike along the coastal area of the Cap d'Antibes or Juan les Pines. It can be seen for miles and is easily accessed

We walked up through the wood and then followed the stations of the cross up the path. There is a table with a beautiful map of what to see in which direction - stunning views from Cannes to Monaco plus the mountains behind. We walked down the road and had a good nosey at the stunning villas!

As with everything in this wonderful area of Antibes, it pays to try to get to it if you can, even though the old town harbour and the beach are such an attractive wallowing places .

Accessible by car or via a long uphill walk on a rocky path, the lighthouse area provides exceptional views of the Cote D'Azure from Nice to Cannes. The path is a bit rugged and requires good footwear, but once on top the views are well worth the walk.

I don't think you could do much at the lighthouse itself, but it's located on top of a hill, with a beautiful view over the coast. I also liked that when travelling elsewhere in the Riviera (such as Nice) you could see the lighthouse blinking away in the distance in Antibes.

If you are coming to Antibes or Juan les Pins you most go to the light house, you can go by road or take the old romain road by foot. A bit of a challenge by great reward at the end, do not forget your camera !!

We saw the lighthouse each evening, and I wanted to see if we could get there. I decided to walk up hill, but you can also get there by car. The view is fantastic and you can also visit the little chapelle and buy an icecream at the small restaurant on top.

Like any viewing point (review about this rather than the lighthouse itself adjacent) if ou go on a cloudy ,Misty or rainy day there will be little to see. On a clear day like when we went the view is stunning. You can stand at viewing point by the church / chapel which has vista pointing out what can see... More

After a long walk up to Le Phare, was disappointed with it but the view was pleasant. If you walk up the signs are not well described. There was just pictorial images of a walker, to indicate walking track. There was no sign for Le Phare

I'm an avid lighthouse enthusiast, back home, I almost visited all the popular lighthouses in east coast from the oldest to the best one, this one is just ordinary but different in style.
