I was rather disappointed with the "Picasso tour", which turned out to be a wander through Porte Marine castle looking at endless photos of Picasso. I was expecting an exhibition of some of his work.

Despite that I had a previous experience visiting Picasso in Barcelona, I wanted to make sure that this artist is presenting art that people can understand, however in my opinion Picasso is a very strong character person, he was able to make the children's paintings he is making appreciated by people, even sold by milion, so he diserve to be among the greatest people, but to me, sorry I ve seen nice paintings elswhere, and these are not among them

We set off with high hopes, but unfortunately it did not totally live up to expectations.
If I said the best part was the film showing the photographer who chronicled the life of Picasso and the reminiscing he does you may get the idea. I am aware of the work of Picasso, but a little more introduction would have been helpful to the different periods of his life or just his artistry in general. Please don't think it is6 all Picasso as other artists quite heavily featured however it is all interesting especially the statues around no idea he harbour.

Wonderful little town to leisurely explore! The architecture and history is truly delicious! Best scebnic view of the Mediterranean. The highlight for me was the Picasso Museum which showed a beautiful collection in an old chateau that once belong to the royal family. During your walk, stop by a cafe and have a sit-down with a coffee and enjoy the sights.

Antibes has a down to earth, easy going ambiance. Its old town is a maze of narrow streets and red roofs rising above the blue Mediterranean, protected by twin medieval towers and wrapped by extensive ramparts.
Walk around Europe's biggest yacht harbour, snooze on a sandy beach or hike along the sea swept trail. Antibes's cultural claim to fame, the Picasso Museum, shows off its iconic collection in a fine old building.
The old town is located between the port and boulevard Albert1er and Avenue Robert Soleau. at its heart is Place Nationale is the hub of activity. Enter through the arch under the rampart, for the restaurant- lined Rue Aubernon and share the oxygen with the population of Anglo Saxons. While you are in walking mode, visit chapelle et Phare de la Garoupe after a 20 minute walk.... and keep walking for an unbelievable beautiful vista around the Cape d'Antibes. Pure magic!!
There are three TI's....at the train station, port and Place General de Gaulle.
Tip.... avoid the town on Mondays as all the sights are closed.
Tip.... most attractions are walkable.
Marion was a true inspiration and an infatiguable guide. Humorous in both languages is an advantage
