This was the culmination of our self-guided tour through the sites that inspired many of Van Gogh's paintings. A fun way to explore the city.

Really central, really nice gardens, in the summer it's beautiful! Free wi-fi! Good to know a bit more about Van Gogh. Nice shops.

Now a shopping arcade with an art gallery, the arcaded square with colourful flowerbeds was painted by Van Gogh. Much better to go to Alyscamp, or into the Alpilles or to St Remy-de-Provence to get a sense of the light and images swirling around in the Artist's head. This is a rather tourist orientated place. Part of the Van Gogh walk. Fairly easy to find and you just walk right in. Pretty garden with some gift shops around.

If you are interested in following the history of Van Gogh then you must come to this former hospital and see the place where Van Gogh painted in interior courtyard. Really interesting story about the troubled life of Van Gogh. There are some nice shops and coffee shop here as well. It is beautiful interior courtyard with fountain and flowers... More

See this as part of the Van Gogh tour of places he painted. The garden is laid out in a quadrant and is very pretty. The building was a health care building where Van Gogh stayed for a short time in recuperations from depression (bi-polar condition).

Its really just a place that you duck into and then look around. But not much has changed since Van Gogh was a patient there, so that in itself is worth seeing. Make sure you look from the direction of his room into the garden to fully realize the sameness of the plaza. Also, the gift shop has the best... More

If you're on the Van Gogh trail, you must look in at this lovely garden that he painted while in hospital here. Somewhat tucked away, but worth the stop.

It is only a small space. Hard to imagine Van Gogh being here and painting in the garden. But it is quite pretty and the streets around it are very picturesque.
