We spent a marvelous day in Aix-en-Provence cooking with Chef Kathy of "Cook in Provence". She invited us into her home to prepare a fresh, delicious 4-course meal. There really is no better way to understand the culture and customs of a place than to cook the food and see how someone lives. The day was "hands-on", we chopped (and... More

Kathy is such a friendly host - she showed us some really useful techniques, and took all of our requests into consideration. I'd really suggest that if you are planning a trip to Aix and you like cooking you include this in your plan. We did the plat du jour and it was really a nice way to have a... More

The last several reviews that have been posted are very similar to our own experience. We spent almost the entire day with Kathy, meeting her near the market, buying some of the groceries for the cooking class, and then preparing and eating the meal. We were with her from 9:30 until about 7 or so, including our extended meal. We... More

We chose the Market Tour and Cooking Class. My daughter and I wanted to brag about doing a cooking course in France! What a treat. We were met by Kathy, and introduced to our 5 other cooking buddies, and a wonderful day followed. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the day, the tour of the different markets was great and... My sister and I took a cooking class with Kathy in May when we were in Provence. It was wonderful. The market in Aix is incredible, We made chicken Provencal, a tart, stuffed zucchini, and roasted asparagus. We had a delightful dinner after all of our hard work and stayed to talk with Kathy for quite sometime. I would highly... More

I'm not much of a cook, but my friend and I decided we wanted to do some sort of cooking class in Aix and leave our families at home with the dads in charge. This was wonderful. We started out with a trip to the markets (and a coffee and the most incredible chocolate croissant of my life - Kathy... More

Our private group of six met with Chef Kathy Ayers a/k/a Food Lovers' Odyssey in the Aix food market circa 9 AM and after coffee and rolls spent the morning learning to select fresh fruit and vegetables in preparation for our afternoon cooking class and our ultimate dinner. Cheese, bread and sausage were also identified, tasted and then purchased by Chef... More

My wife anD I did a pastry class with Kathy while in Aix for three days. The class ran a half day, and was with a small group (6 of us in total), we cooked three types of french tarts. I usually never write reviews but Kathy deserves it. What a great day- Thankyou. Kathy has a passion and love for Provencal Cuisine, the market, and France and it shows. Our menu was perfect and the food was fantastic. I would encourage anyone who likes to cook to spend a day with Kathy. This is a unique and personal experience.... More

My friends and I took the pastry class on fruit tarts and creams. We made 3 different kinds of tarts, and got to take a bunch home. They were all delicious. Chef Kathy's passion for French pastries is obvious, but she also explains each step in detail. I don't bake a lot, but I am certain I can make these... More
