We both cycled & drove the circuit of Mt St Victoire during our week's stay in Aix. The bike ride was 65km, with 1000m of vertical, and very enjoyable with fabulous views of the mountain from every side. Our drive was when the sun came out ofter a rainy morning so the light & air clarity were perfect. What can't... More

Hiked to the top via the red trail. The hike was very steep/rocky the whole way and certain parts required a bit of climbing. It took a little over 2 hours to the top and then we were rewarded with stunning panoramic views and up close look at Croix de Provence. The trail is marked, but you have to really... More

We spent two days walking here. Really enjoyed it: quiet, not terribly busy, easy to get to (we were staying at Chateauneuf lerouge) and didn't cost a thing. Recommend: - walks around Le Thorlonet (there is a green in the village that is great for a picnic); - Vauvenargues -- wonderful spot and were took the "yellow trail" which was... More

The views are gorgeous here and lovely place to have a picnic! We were there in the middle of the day, which can get quite hot, but there are tress with shady areas.

Impressive yet not overpowering as a geological landmark could be. It's surprises are the gems dotted around the mountain. Le Lac de Bimont created by the barage contains such clear turquoise waters within its limestone slopes. The views are incredible and it is such a tranquil place. For the more adventurous, one can ascend to the cross mounted high on... More

Drove along the route Cezanne and saw the mountain from all sides. Beautiful red cliffs along the road and great views. Fantastic place to hike if it is not too hot and dry.

Amazing views, very close to Aix-en-Provence. Nature and art, great food and fantastic wine. The scale of the mountain, full of secluded paths and amazing views.
