The Palais de Justice was closed when we visited Poitiers. Historically, this is the location where, in 1429, Joan of Arc was examined by the council of clergy.

I am an Eleanor of Aquitaine buff so this place filled me with wonder. It is the vast hall with medieval architecture and huge fireplaces where Eleanor ascended the be Duchess of Aquitaine.
