The area is very pleasant, lots of attractive shops, restaurants and bars in the lovely old buildings. Under less pressure from numbers of people than the seafront area.

We used to walk to the central market along this street, almost free of traffic, watching the passers by and shopkeepers doing their daily rounds. There are bookshops, arty music shops, restaurants, bakers shops, with a range of tempting places to stop and browse.
