This was beautiful, full of atmosphere and charm and the walk along the marina was a joy. Happily spend longer here.

Just a short stop here to view the towers which were amazing to see. Lovely area too. Well worth a visit.

We just walked around the port then enjoyed a beer near the pier. It was a nice, warm, sunny day... We were in La Rochelle for only one night so only had time to walk around the old town & stop by pier. In a.m. we walked a bit more around the different piers. I would enjoy another visit here... One of the most beautiful french ports. Nice restaurants to eat or drink or just have a cup of coffee!

This was a great place to wander around but now it is totally one way, no parking and if you make a mistake as I did, then a two kilometre drive around the whole lot again. If you visit park in the station car park and walk but I did not find it pleasant any more.

Now a port of pleasance, this used to be a major transatlantic port. Plenty of buildings that testify to past glory and a nice environment for an evening stroll. Parking is not good.

Most of the action here revolves around restaurants and bars. You can get a good walk around to see the towers from all angles, but going in probably doesn't add any value.

Atmospheric old port with great atmosphere, lots of bars, cafes and interesting shops. Cobbles can be hard on the feet though!

I enjoyed several hours at the Marina area. Restaurant and cafes line the street and overlook the port which is full of sailboats and other crafts. Shopping is ample and People are browsing everywhere! The prices vary from casual to high end so there is something for everyone! My husband found a bench and watched the marina action While I... Was really blown away by the beauty and history of the port. It was incredibly busy on the Saturday night, a real holiday atmosphere but almost entirely indigenous revellers. Sunday was much quieter but no less atmospheric.
