Stopped at this wonderful walled town - great find, perfect views and the cathedral is stunning. Park at the top and stroll around. Many lovely restaurants in the Cathedral square.

We stopped in Laon for a half day and overnight. Laon is a step back in time. The entire city is stone with medieval architecture. The walk down the central pedestrian street toward the cathedral was enchanting. The numerous shops and quaint street signs made...More

This Cathedrale is extremely well preserved for the inside as well at the outside. The stained glass windows are remarkable.

As you approach Laon you can see the cathedral rising up from the city. Up close you see the unusual features: particularly the unusual 'open' towers and the incredible animal carvings- oxen and even a hippo! Inside the cathedral is light and beautiful with odd...More

It is well worth making a detour from the motorway to visit this cathedral which is sited on top of a hill. There is a free car park near the rear of the cathedral, which is reached by just a few minutes walk through the...More

Well maintained and clean. Many side chapels and stained glass windows. Visited in March and the Cathedral was empty and quiet. Enjoyed the silence. Quite close to main town square and plenty of cafes nearby.

A rather Grand Cathedral for such a small town. One must take a look around and inside it as its quite beautiful and popular at any time year

A beautiful example of medieval architecture in a setting with a gorgeous view. The gargoyles and bell tower sculptures alone are worth the visit.

When in Laon we didn't go to Reims. From what I know the cathedral and the champagne cellars are the musts of the area.
